Higher or Lower is an independent football quiz. This notice explains what happens to information when you visit higherlowergoals.com or play the game.

What the game uses

• Best score: your browser saves your highest streak in its own local storage under pl-hol-best. It stays on your device; the game does not send your score to us. You can delete it by clearing this site's data in your browser.
• Technical access information: the hosting service necessarily receives requests for pages and images. Those requests can include an IP address, browser details, requested page and time. The hosting provider may process technical logs to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose failures.
• Messages you send: if you contact the operator, your message and contact details are used to answer you and handle the request.

You do not need an account or to provide your name to play. The current game does not include advertising or visitor analytics scripts. The Share score button uses your device's sharing features and does not submit a score to the game operator.

Why this information is used

Local score storage provides the best-score feature you request. Technical request information is used to deliver and protect the website and resolve faults. Messages are used to respond to enquiries. Where personal data is involved, the operator relies on legitimate interests in running and securing the game and responding to enquiries, subject to applicable data protection rights.

Storage, sharing and transfers

Your best score remains in your browser until you remove it. Hosting data is processed by the website hosting provider and its infrastructure partners, which may operate outside Guernsey. Messages are retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond and handle any follow-up. The operator does not sell visitor information. Technical logs are subject to the hosting provider's retention and security arrangements; the operator has not established a more precise log-retention period.

Links to photo sources and the Premier League website open other services with their own privacy practices. Photographs used in the game are served from this site; opening a source or credit link takes you to that external service.

The game itself uses browser local storage for your best score. It does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The hosting platform may use essential security or delivery technologies when serving the website. If advertising or optional analytics are added, this notice and any required consent controls will be updated before they are enabled.

You can clear the local best score through your browser settings. A dedicated privacy contact and operator details will be added here. You can also raise a concern with your relevant data protection authority.
